Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum
03 - 25 - 2010

March 16th, 2010 marked the start of construction for Zaha Hadid's second building in the U.S.  The new museum is located on Michigan State University campus.  The idea is to bring international attraction to the school, increase visibility, and attract larger and more significant exhibitions to the museum.  Certainly Zaha Hadid took advantage of this great opportunity to come up with a unique design.  The design was so unique that there was a 1 year delay on the start of construction so the design team can up with a construction method for the unusual of design of the louvered glass and metal skin for the museum.  That goes to show with the right client nearly anything is possible with design.  Hadid received design parameters to create new attention grabber for MSU's campus and the client's ambition allowed Hadid to create a piece that was truly one of a kind even if it was not efficient in cost or in construction method.
